About the Attorney
Barrister & Solicitor
Malik Anthony Nembhard is a sole practitioner focused on Employment Law, Civil Litigation, and Sports & Entertainment. He established the Law Office of Malik Nembhard to give clients direct access to senior counsel on every file; the kind of focused attention that a dedicated sole practice makes possible.
In addition to his sole practice, Malik serves as Counsel at Lucentem Sports & Entertainment Law PC, where he advises on litigation and dispute resolution, commercial transactions, and intellectual property matters across the sports and entertainment sectors.
His litigation practice covers the full arc of civil and employment matters, from pleadings and production through mediation and settlement, across the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario, the Divisional Court, and various administrative tribunals. He trained at one of Toronto's preeminent entertainment and media law firms across film, television, and music transactions, trademark enforcement, and collective bargaining frameworks, then developed his litigation practice at a civil and employment boutique in downtown Toronto.
Before being called to the bar, he worked in business and legal affairs for a Canadian production company, coordinating with U.S. studio counsel on talent agreements and distribution matters, and served as associate producer on a nationally broadcast television series. He also served as a board director of the National Campus and Community Radio Association, Canada's advocacy body for campus and community radio.
Since 2022, he has contributed to LexisNexis Canada's Practical Guidance platform as a Legal Editor, developing practitioner resources across litigation, corporate, intellectual property, privacy, and personal injury.
